Lovers’ Lane Primary & Nursery School held a sunshine-filled fundraising event in support of the Lifting Children’s Hopes (LCH) charity.
Children and staff alike ran through clouds of colours to raise money for the charity and totals topped a whopping £800!
Lifting Children’s Hopes (LCH), is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people across the East Midlands. It provides a range of services including mental health support, financial assistance for low-income households, and also enriching experiences and family events, including short breaks and day trips for children. The charity also works closely with schools and holds as its aim, a world where all children have opportunity to flourish.

James Wood is Headteacher at Lovers’ Lane Primary and Nursery School. James said they wanted to partner with the charity as they share the same values as his school, and those of his school’s multi-academy trust, the ý.
“Our partnership with LCH Charity strongly aligns with our vision of Empowering Everyday Excellence by widening opportunity and raising aspirations for all children,” said James. “Their support helps us remove barriers, enrich experiences and ensure every pupil has the chance to thrive. As a school and wider partnership, we are driven by the principle of making every day count, and we view community partnerships as a vital way of strengthening outcomes for children.
“By holding this fundraising event, we felt we could give back to a charity which supports our children and the community they live in.”

Year 3 pupil, Howa said, “The Colour Dash was really fun because everyone got messy and laughed together. Kindness is a school value, and I liked that we were helping other children as a whole school.”
Fellow pupil Calum is in Year 6 and said, “The Colour Dash showed how our school comes together to support each other and help children who need it. It was great fun, but it also felt good knowing we were raising money for a charity that helps other families.”
