Foundation 2 pupil Anna said, 鈥淚 loved it. I’m covered in colours!鈥�

Children at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School in Sutton in Ashfield had fun in the sun during a colour dash fundraiser for the charity Lifting Children鈥檚 Hopes (LCH).

Children and staff alike ran the school field through clouds of colour on a sun-filled day, and monies collected have currently topped a whopping 拢3000 for the good cause.

Lifting Children鈥檚 Hopes (LCH), is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people across the East Midlands. It provides a range of services including mental health support, financial assistance for low-income households, and also enriching experiences and family events, including short breaks and day trips for children.

Natalie Blackwell is F2 Teacher and PE Lead at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School and she said, 鈥淲e are so grateful to the school community for supporting our children in their fundraising efforts for LCH charity.

鈥淥ver the last year, the charity has provided invaluable support to a number of our children and their families, and this fun event was a meaningful way of our school community to give something back.鈥�

Pupil Axel is in Foundation 2 and said, 鈥淚 loved it because I got to splat the grown-ups!鈥� Fellow Foundation 2 pupil, Hattie said, 鈥淚 liked it because they threw paint at me and I threw it back.鈥�

鈥淚 loved it鈥�, said Maggie (Year 4), 鈥渂ecause I liked being colourful.鈥�

Year 3 pupil Thea said, 鈥淚 liked that the teachers were fun and friendly and I was colourful.鈥�

Noah, from Year 5 said, 鈥淚t was fun, and I enjoyed getting colour everywhere!鈥�
